Efficiency Is Key to Gaining Business for Short Run Book Printing Firm.
ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 25—King Printing of Lowell, Mass., found that the KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Digital Production Color Press, KODAK NEXTREME DL-1000 Variable Data Solution and KODAK NEXTREME DL-100 Variable Data Software answer the question of how to increase speed to market while maintaining high quality for its customers.
“We selected the KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 press because the digital color capabilities of the system will take us to a new level. There are new markets we can serve, because with KODAK solutions, you don’t have to produce 100,000 copies to be cost efficient,” said Adi Chinai, Joint Managing Director of King Printing. “The quality is extremely close to offset. With the KODAK NEXPRESS press, uptime is great and we can meet customer demands for quick turnaround times. The new technology from Kodak is carrying us forward.”
King Printing is growing the education and trade book publishing segments of its business by giving customers quicker time to market than its competitors offer, Chinai said. “We are continuing to make investments in leading edge technology, which adds efficiencies to our operation and allows us to add capacity to better serve our clients,” he explained.
Chinai said the company also uses a KODAK DIGIMASTER black and white digital production system for short run book printing. Founded in 1978, King Printing began using early digital technology in 1989 and direct to plate technology in 1995 to augment its web and sheet fed presses. King Printing is a complete book manufacturer with binding capabilities to support the case bound, soft cover and mechanical binding needs of its clients.
The KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital production color press meets a variety of needs, from entry level to very high volume environments. Customers are able to upgrade presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired paper capacity, increase processing capability, and add a fifth imaging unit for delivery of spot color, watermarking and protective coating.
The KODAK NEXTREME DL-1000 Variable Data solution is an integrated client-server package for advanced, high speed variable data printing. It offers a fast, scaleable system that fits perfectly in demanding high volume production environments.
The KODAK NEXTREME DL-100 Variable Data Software integrates into current workflow, leveraging existing technology investments, and enables printers to produce full color pieces with variable text, images and database driven charts and tables.
